Monarch PSG's Climate Chronicles Unleashed Named Semifinalist for 2026 American Climate Leadership Awards

Community storytelling initiative recognized among top 30 semifinalists nationally for innovative approach to broadening participation in climate advocacy
Washington, D.C. — February 18, 2026 — This month, we celebrate that Monarch PSG’s fiscally sponsored project, Climate Chronicles Unleashed, has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2026 American Climate Leadership Awards by ecoAmerica.
Created by Nicole Jackson, Climate Chronicles Unleashed empowers individuals in frontline/fenceline communities to convert personal lived experience into climate advocacy through trauma-informed storytelling, arts-based exercises, and coalition-building.
"We are deeply honored to be recognized among such inspiring climate leaders," said Nicole Jackson, creator of Climate Chronicles Unleashed. "This affirms what we've known: that the voices of underserved communities are essential to achieving climate justice."
The initiative has demonstrated measurable impact:
Engaged 121 participants across 20+ U.S. states and 11 countries
Achieved 100% proficiency gain in advanced narrative frameworks
Created pathways from personal story to policy action
The initiative is now integrated into CEEJH INC's Climate Justice Fellows curriculum, ensuring its replicable model scales to train future cohorts.
As a semifinalist, Climate Chronicles Unleashed receives a $1,000 cash prize. Finalists will be announced in spring 2026, with winners celebrated on April 16, 2026.
The initiative maintains a waitlist of communities requesting the program, including San Francisco, Baltimore, and Wilmington, and is developing guides for faith-based, K-12, and women-led audiences.
